Glassdoor to be acquired in $1.2B deal
Major company review site and job board Glassdoor agreed this week to be acquired for $1.2 billion. Recruit Holdings Co. will be acquiring the company and adding Glassdoor to its portfolio of other job sites, like Indeed and Simply Hired. Why American teenagers are less likely to find a summer job
Unemployment is at an all-time low in recent years, but that doesn't mean landing a job is coming easily - especially for teens whose common jobs are being taken over by older workers. Summer employment for people ages 16 through 19 last year was nearly 4% lower than in 2016. Food service, customer service, and retail jobs, which used to be popular for teen workers, are now occupied by older workers year-round.
